Dior's John Galliano does it again. Proving that fashion is more art than industry.

I respect him very much. he seriously blows my mind. he's stuff is so fun to watch. he's so unpredictable.

i wasn't all that impressed with Chanel's 2009 summer looks. it's just so... Chanel. i know that Chanel is classic, but it shouldn't be as predictable as this was for me.


fendi collection:

so good. i don't know if liked it because of the music. i don't usually like the "futuristic" vibe. but this just worked for me. it was very fendi, kind of off though. off in a good way. later in the video... note the futuristic looking laces. it's very odd... white lace space galactica women. it's very space-y mixed with pretty girly looking stuff. even listen to the music. it's all mystical and pretty.. with techno. strong unpredictable theme. i wouldn't do it, but i like it.

everyone needs to check out Heatherette's very own Richie Rich collection. Heatherette is so over-the-top pleasantly tacky. It never gets old to me. He launched his collection first in fall/winter 2008/2009. The make up was done very plain.. which I appreciated. As a Mac artist working for him put it.. it was the "return of the face". not make up accentuating or hiding particular parts of the face... but highlighting all of the face in a very natural way. not necessarily using browns/bronze colors... but just very plain and sweet. and early Marilyn Monroe, or even as far back as Norma jean look.. if you will. he loves tacky crazy shit, pretty blonde girls (paris hilton has graced his runways with heatherette) and now pamela anderson is his right hand man (or woman) for this show. quality sucks, but you get the idea.


I wish I could see a noted designer pull off a "punk" runway collection without translated new age fashions. just plain ol' punk rock. They might not get good reviews at first because critics want to see "new" and "now" looks. but what about paying tribute to the original fashions that got us here? I'd even love to see a mod/rocker show. that would be very intriguing to see it done.. and done sincerely. not like... cool new innovative things. but a collection of clothes put together... almost a vintage collection show. one that vivienne westwood would approve of. (if you don't know her, look it up. she's more than a fashion icon). also one that people who actual grew up in the industry could look appreciate. kind of paying tribute to people who actually give a shit about the music. it's just as ignorant to say music isn't fashion as fashion isn't music. i think both have had huge influence's on eachother. even the "anti-fashion" aspects. disagreeing is just denying truth.

theres just something almost "disrespectful" about it to me. it's lame.

i just don't like those looks. mixing up old grimey punk fashion with pretty dresses or babydoll shirts. or something of that nature. it's just so "Nylon Magazine" and that look is so predictable. not that i don't appreciate it... but it's been done.. over and over and over. it's so L.A. even kind of "scene girl-ish". if you want looks like that, go to barneys without TUK creepers. stoppppp it.
